Celebrity Twins In K-Pop

There are a number of celebrity siblings in the Korean entertainment industry, but did you know that there are also a handful of celebrity twins in the K-Pop world as well? Can you name any from the top of your head before reading the rest of this article?

Boyfriend’s Young Min & Kwang Min

Birthday: April 24, 1995

Boyfriend’s Young Min and Kwang Min are identical twins and quite impossible to tell apart if not for their different hairstyles. In a past interview, their fellow members gave some pointers on how to differentiate between the twins. Apparently, Young Min is easy going and smooth, while Kwang Min is more of the happy-go-lucky type. Prior to their debut as “Boyfriend,” the twins attracted much attention for their resemblance to Kim Hyun Joong.

T-ara’s Hwayoung & 5 Dolls’ Hyoyoung

Birthday: August 22, 1993

Sisters and labelmates, identical twins Hwayoung and Hyoyoung are both part of Core Contents Media. The two openly express their close relationship, sharing baby photos and tweets through their SNS accounts. Earlier this year, they appeared in Speed’s music video for their song “Lovey-Dovey Plus.” The music video drew in a lot of attention because the Ryu sisters wore the same outfit and makeup, making it nearly impossible to tell them apart as they displayed their impressive dancing skills.

JYJ’s Kim Junsu & Kim Junho

Birthday: January 1, 1987

Fraternal twins Kim Junsu and Junho are both successful singers. While Junsu trained to become a kpop star and debuted quite early, Junho is still quite new to the industry with only four years of experience under his belt. He was originally a baseball player but an injury forced him to find a new career. In 2010, he made his debut as a singer in China under the stage month ZUNO.

Wink’s Kang Joo Hee & Kang Seung Hee

Birthday: June 29, 1983

Given their genre, twin trot group Wink is more known domestically than internationally, However, they’ve had a successful comeback earlier this year with “Eolssu” and had a collaboration stage with Teen Top’s Chunji and L. Joe.

Huh Gak & Huh Gong

Birthday: January 5, 1985

While not as famous as his twin brother just yet, Huh Gong is slowly making a name for himself as a singer. Both splashed onto the Korean music industry through mnet’s audition programs: Huh Gak won “Super Star K2,” while Huh Gong starred in “The Voice Korea.” Meanwhile, Huh Gak is seeing much success with his latest OST track for drama “Big,” having topped several music charts.
