Girl’s Day Wins No.1 on Canceled Broadcast of “Inkigayo”


Girl’s Day, who recently made a comeback with “Female President,” won their first number one on a terrestrial station music show since their debut three years ago.

They won first place for “Female President” for the canceled broadcast of SBS’ “Inkigayo” this past Sunday, July 7. The music show was canceled due to the ongoing covering of the Asiana Airline crash in San Francisco.

SBS revealed Girl’s Day’s win on “Inkigayo” homepage on July 8. The group earned 5375 points for downloads, 3500 for SNS, and 12 for viewer preliminary votes, totaling 8887 points. SISTAR‘s “Give It to Me” placed second and Lee Seung Chul‘s “My Love” was third.

Girl’s Day member Sojin left a message of thanks on her Twitter account. She wrote, “No.1…ㅠㅠ*For us who regarded being a candiate for no.1 as a dreamㅜ*Really?! Truly?! Really? For real?????ㅠㅠ*In three years since our debut…finally..!! This is so precious and long-awaited and we’re thankful and thankful again.” Sojin went on to thank their fans and staff for this prize.
